ho-ho-ho-holy crap it’s christmas already!

(that’s me, obviously happy with my christmas loot)

i hope you have a lovely day, whether you’re in the snow or the sun… my christmas is going to consist of opening gifts sometime late morning (or rather, watching as my young nieces and nephews tear open their presents, and then ask if they can open mine too).

then setting the table & helping my mom make all the food – which will consist of a huge roast gammon (served cold in thin slices, with the most amazing mustard & condensed milk sauce – it sounds weird but it’s delicious!) -  and probably a leg of lamb, a beef fillet or coronation chicken with roast almonds (or all three, yep, probably all three.)

PLUS various salads and other side dishes.

this will be followed by dessert… maybe strawberries & ice cream, or crème caramel or even a trifle (or all three).

and THEN coffee and homemade biscuits made by my german sister-in-laws.

after that? a long nap, followed by a walk on the beach – and then leftovers. oh yes, christmas day is nice.
