it’s fun in the sun

these images are part of john van noate‘s collection, a very interesting guy on flickr who posts entire stories within his photo sets. like this one, parts of which made me laugh. and this one which is about his time at woodstock.

this particular set  is part of ‘the florida sex stories’ – but you have to be listed as a friend of mr. van noate to read them. if you’re curious and he decides you’re not some kind of pervert, he’ll let you.

going on the pics alone i’d say it makes for some interesting reading. yes that is bettie page.

in my fantasies i have more than one house

may i introduce you to my new winter… and summer homes? they are in norway. at least i’m pretty sure they’re in norway, as the architect’s website is in norwegian (i’m guessing) and my google translate won’t activate.

my winter home is pretty rad because it has reindeer antlers on the pitch of the roof (i put them there)

my summer home is awesome because of all the windows, so i can let the light in until 10pm. or whenever it sets in norway. does the sun even set in norway in summer? i’ll soon find out.

you can come visit, i’ll try to find some scandanavian style pull out couches.

thanksgiving

i have had a lot to give thanks for recently, so even though we don’t celebrate thanksgiving i’ll be giving it a polite nod and hope all of you in the states have a great time with your families.

Tamara & Imar

imar krige is a graphic designer from cape town whose wedding invitations i love – especially those pocket squares.

Being a graphic designer by trade, of course I saw my wedding as a magnificent design project. One of the first things I told Tamara is that I would love the whole effort to be very DIY driven … We wanted every element of our wedding to be one-of-a-kind. We stamped and wrote details on each invitation and thank you tag by hand, cut and tied the ribbon, hand made windmills and made the pocket squares from scratch.
