i actually wasn’t allowed to put nails in the walls of my previous flat, and i used hooks that had double sided tape. as long as you’re not hanging something heavy (like a mirror) they work perfectly! you can get them at any DIY store. there’s also a product called no more nails that works in a similar fashion.
