i received the most incredible mail from sally yesterday – she says,
I loved your post about Life photos from Princeton in 1969! I figured if you’re into that kind of photography, you might interested in a resource I found. The University of North Carolina, the school I attended, has apparently archived all of its yearbooks online (well, from the 1890s up to the 1970s) here. I know it’s just another school in the Southern US and may not immediately appeal (although it is the oldest public school in the US! With one of the most beautiful campuses and the BEST basketball team in the country, if I may say so :), but I think the photos and fashion found within are on par with those in the Princeton article.
jeesy creesy – talk about an understatement, sally! the first year i explored was 1970 (still can’t shake the seventies fever guys) and i immediately started saving pics – revelling in all the cool campus girls… until i saw the incredibly creative yearbook photos of the college sororities & frat houses. ding ding ding. all i can say is, i would have been the motorcycle gang frat house groupie.

needless to say i will be revisiting this incredible resource & sharing more soon enough. be sure to check out sally’s post about the yearbook pics here – a great read & loads of pics.
