i know most people call artists by their surnames, but i would really like it if everyone referred to dürer as albrecht. it really suits his work, i think. i was just having a wee browse today and realised how much his stuff cheers me up – even though (probably because) most of it is remarkably wack looking. that’s probably not the best word to describe dürer (albrecht) … but it would be nice if art theorists used it now and then.

    I love Dürer’s–I mean Albrecht’s!–work. I don’t think I’ve seen that bird wing before, but it is so gorgeous! The color, the detail, just beautiful.
