do you realise? that you have the most beautiful face.

do you realise? that you have the most beautiful face
do you realise? we’re floating in space
do you realise? that happiness makes you cry
do you realise? that everyone you know someday will die

i love this song. thanks flaming lips.

Albrecht

i know most people call artists by their surnames, but i would really like it if everyone referred to dürer as albrecht. it really suits his work, i think. i was just having a wee browse today and realised how much his stuff cheers me up – even though (probably because) most of it is remarkably wack looking. that’s probably not the best word to describe dürer (albrecht) … but it would be nice if art theorists used it now and then.

laughing peasant woman

portrait of a boy with a long beard (!) & weeping cherub (angry cherub)

walrus

wing of a roller (too beautiful)

young hare (everyone’s favourite)

Hetterson

i first came across hetterson via anja who i also follow on flickr, she was the photographer for the beautiful new spring lookbook. wowsies. then i realised hetterson is the new name of designer hannah elise’s previous label bekvam. aah, it’s all making sense to me now. what a talent. shop the collection here.

Hetterson is a handcrafted line of clothing and knitwear. each piece is carefully made, with a strong focus on sustainable materials and production.

college days

i think about university quite often and what i would have done differently if i could do it all over again (a dangerous game.) probably should have worked harder, dressed better & partied less. that would have changed everything, i swear!

these are from the vassar college archive on flickr. i love it when universities make the effort of sharing their photo archives online – i really wish my alma mater would do the same! i should apply for that job…

welcome beyond

welcome beyond is a website “showcasing the most beautiful and unique vacation homes & boutique hotels around the world” or “hand-picked paradise” – as they put it. well, that’s handy.

these are the kind of places i’d fancy a holiday in… i remember staying in a similarly rustic & charming farmhouse in prince albert once. we opened the fridge to find complementary homemade cheese. i won’t ever forget that. do you want to win people over and make sure they return again and again? give them free cheese.

Have a spare room for me?

to tell you the truth i don’t look at interior blogs & websites all too often. mostly because they make me so insanely jealous and fed up that i end up closing them almost immediately. now and then i go through a binge and purge phase of devouring as much interior inspiration as i can, though – this is one of those moments.

tina

since i’m in a tina kind of mood. man, this woman is INFECTIOUS. just watch any of her live performances & you can’t help but feel your heart swell for her. they also make you want to run up and down some stairs (those legs!)
