This is a series of family photos taken by a Mr.E.A. Ife, mostly in the 1920s. They lived in Cassio Road, Watford, and Mr. Ife ran the ‘Post Office Savings Club Photographic Society’ from there.

These are beautiful. I often work on illustrated local history books, and the images that survive from that period are often just those that interest postcard collectors the most – so old buildings etc – you see the social side of things much more rarely. These have such an innocent and calm feeling to them – the last one in particular. They’re absolutely fantastic, what a great find.
