These Things No.43

i had to kick off the latest these things with this ridiculously beautiful Acne colourblock tote. holy totes designer handbags are expensive though! just looking at the price makes my eyes water. oh well, this is one for the fantasy books.

on to something far more affordable and practical – i love these holiday acorn stickers and gift tags by Lemonni. it’s not often that you find gift tags that aren’t super christmasey, so i dig that these are both neutral and lovely.

speaking of christmas, i think that this upcycled vintage bicycle made by locals starling & hero bicycle co for 36 boutiques would be at the top of my santa, i’ve been really good wish list. thanks to robyn cooke for the beautiful styling.

love the careful detailing of designer Angélique Chmielewski:

i love the styling of The Old Library, a restaurant in Sydney:

you may call me a broken record at this time of year, but i’m so jealous of winter in the north right now. especially because of this coat at no.6 store

…and the cosy looks of Dianna Lunt photographed by Citizen Couture:

Give Some Art

my go-to gift, and also my favourite to receive, is a print or a piece of art for my wall (or floor, or shelf, or wherever i can squeeze it in due to impending space issues). 20×200 has a great gift guide going at the moment, which i think is perfect for the holidays. they specialise in limited edition prints at affordable prices, and you get them framed too so it’s a sweet deal all round. these are some of my favourites in their shop.

Girl In The Wild

my friend Amy recently moved away to work at a game lodge in the bush, and though i will seriously miss her while she’s gone (i hate it when friends move away, why can’t we all just stay in the same city, huh?) i know she’s going to love it, because Amz is a bush girl. it’s also not many people who get to live in the African bush – that is a rare treasure, and something you should do once in your life if you can.

before she left she said she’s not going to change her style there, but rather maintain a Lauren Hutton Out of Africa-esque vibe. right on. so when i saw the fall campaign for Maiyet featuring Daria Werbowy somewhere out in the African wild i immediately though of Amz, and thought i’d do an ode to her in the form of a fashion meets painting post. hopefully she can print them out and stick them in one of her books.

before you ask, i did not paint these by hand. that would be ridiculous! thanks photoshop.
