Matter

you know i’m a fan of wearing the pants, and if they’re designed specifically for comfort then they’re even better. the debut collection from MATTER, a socially motivated clothing line founded by Yvonne Suner and Renyung Ho after a trip across India, features “pants to see the world in”. they are made from Tussar silk cotton, with no zips to snag or clasps to break.

Working with artisan communities in Rajasthan, MATTER employs time-honored techniques of the loom and blockprint to develop unique fabrics and designs. Pants styles are designed through multiple fittings on multiple women, and field tested to ensure they withstand the challenges of airplane hopping or rush hour traffic navigation, taking the wearer from sandy beach to city bar with ease.

peruse their first collection at their online shop (and they ship internationally, for free)

  1. Looks great! And dang comfortable. I feel like not tapered wide fabric trousers, or culottes, but more casual, are the thing this summer. I wouldn’t mind having a few pairs just to lounge around in the park.
