Jordan Sullivan is a writer & artist living in LA, original from Houston Texas, who i have been following on Instagram for a long while. i recently delved into his extensive portfolio, and was stopped in my virtual tracks by the beautiful and harrowing photographic story about his mother: The Burial Cloud.
In 1973, when my mother was 19 years old, she was abducted and raped on a beach in Petacalco, Mexico. She had travelled with her friends to Petacalco in search of an epic wave that a pair of surfers had recently discovered.
Jordan provides no further explanation, and you’re left picking over the pieces of photographic memories that’s laid out before you. The Burial Cloud will be released as an illustrated biography book in early 2016.
here are a selection of images from The Burial Cloud, please see the entire story here.
