it’s that time of year in South Africa where some women (aka: me) are starting to sweat about the impending summer. they are scrolling through Kayla Istine’s feed, and thinking about maybe doing a juice diet, and keeping one eyeball on the swimwear trends. it’s companies like Pale Swimwear who give me hope, making beautiful pieces that would suit a range of body types. whether you’re into high-waisted bikinis or slick one-pieces, they’ve got you covered.

Pale is an independent swimwear brand based in Barcelona. Taking aesthetic cues from the sights, sounds, fashion, and music of the present and the past, Pale combines elements of swimwear and lingerie into pieces defined by clean lines and a subtle color palette. With a strong focus on both technical production and quality, Pale collections are entirely designed and made in Barcelona using premium, locally sourced materials.

and, they ship internationally! yays.

  1. Love the cropped rash guard with sleeves! I’ve been looking for something like that for a while. I’ve given in/given up. I’m white-white-white. I’m not meant to be exposed to the sun. Every darn year of my life I’ve given myself at least one bad burn, and with one in three Australians getting skin cancer, that does not help my odds. I’ve had a cute scoop-neck rash guard from Gorman for a couple of seasons, but my neck has still got burnt. I’m getting a cute rash guard and some surf leggings. Kind of like a mix-n-match burkini, except I’d prefer if the rash was cropped (because I can seem to properly put sunblock on the middle bit of my body).

  2. I love the shape of the high-waisted bottoms, they look like they can actually cover your bum. The simple cuts look so flattering and comfortable.
