look, i never pass up the chance to peruse a new online shop. some i can skim for a couple of seconds before closing the tab, others – well, i get sucked in for a good long while. that’s how it turned out when the friendly people from Beech Hall pointed me towards their shop with an imaginary hieroglyphic hand. hieroglyphic because the seasonal collections from Beech Hall are themed, and the debut collection is all about Egypt.
Beech Hall was founded by artists Danielle Kroll, Bev Beaulieu and Wade Keller as a way to encourage creative freedom and experimentation. The name, Beech Hall, came from the dorm room at Tyler School of Art where all three first met. While coming from a similar artistic background, we all revel in different areas of practice. By collaborating together on theme-based collections, we are allowing ourselves to explore and play without being tied down to one medium or identity. Finding inspiration in both art history and contemporary design, we are driven to create unique, hand-made and one of a kind items that can be enjoyed for centuries to come.
i love everything! but my favourite piece has to be the first fly necklace. you can shop everything here. jewellery by Bev Beaulieu; soft goods by Wade Keller; ceramics + textiles + illustrations by Danielle Kroll.
