my twitter & rss feed exploded with unhappy hipsters yesterday. this is too funny not to mention. “it’s lonely in the modern world”… whoever writes the captions deserves a high five.
i just love the pageantry of dog shows, and especially how the owners often look like their pets (the dogs also look either horribly embarrassed or completely elated to be there).
my mom always sends me these forwarded emails, usually of cute animal stories. i couldn’t pass up posting this one (which you may or may not have seen before). i just love it! don’t know where it comes from and who took the pictures but, enjoy.

not much bloggin today as things are a wee bit busy my side, but i had to share these budgies i found on flickr – they made me laugh out loud (hope they do the same for you). drawn by pewtie
ok i had to make this comparison because, quite frankly, it’s ridiculous. on the left, 15 year old Rebecca from Copenhagen. on the right, 15 year old me from South Africa. granted, that was taken in 1998 – and i am adamant that teens were way less cool in 1998. i had everything – the braces, the awkward short hair do, the unfortunate use of hair gel, the baggy jersey. rebecca has none of those things! sigh.
sometimes i get really amusing search engine terms, eg: “models + babes + photography” or “black and white pussy” (….) but the BEST one i’ve had so far is, “perhaps pierre? monique?”
you’ll only get it if you’ve watched that meg ryan + kevin kline movie, french kiss. and even then, you’d probably only enjoy it if you’ve seen it as often as i have. it’s one of those inside jokes with my friends that cracks us up, and no one else gets.

superheroes placed in political & wartime scenes by Agan Harahap (though i’m not sure if vader qualifies as a superhero)
it’s actually pretty funny to see superman standing amongst the allied soldiers (in that scene, neuschwanstein castle in bavaria). there is a book called the monuments men which i have been meaning to pick up, which tells the story of the group of curators, archivists, artists & art historians who set out to find all the art and other treasures that the nazis had looted and hidden across europe during WWII. check out their official website, it’s super interesting.
