has anyone seen cracks yet? i’ve been wanting to watch it mostly because of eva green (i don’t like the term girl crush because it’s kind of annoying… but yes, girl crush).
i watched manhattan the other day and remembered just how beautiful meryl streep is.

speaking of musicals … (hello christopher plummer)
yesterday my mind was pretty much blown by the official website of keith loutit – whose tilt-shift videos mesmerised me for a full half hour. then i discovered his vimeo page and my mind was doubley blown. he’s been doing this for over 2 years and i only discovered it now! the shame. please enjoy, and do make an effort to go watch all his films.
i watched a french romantic comedy last night called i do: how to get married & stay single (prête-moi ta main). it’s not a rom-com the way american ones are – in other words it’s actually funny and not schmaltzy at all. if you want to watch a light hearted movie that will really make you laugh (and you don’t mind subtitles), go rent this now.
GUYS i’m going to go watch alice in wonderland tomorrow. not just tomorrow, tomorrow morning. yes, that’s how eager i am. there’s always something strange about sitting in a dark cinema when it’s light outside, but there you have it. anyway, in honour of this momentous occassion, i thought i’d share some alice in wonderland imagery i enjoy.
wowowowow!!! this stop motion short film is eye poppingly rad:

have you watched an education yet? it’s just as good as i expected it to be.
if you’ve already seen it, here’s the paris scene for you again:
fantastic mr fox is just as amazing as i thought it would be. i’m not going to get into it, because i think you should just watch it yourself as soon as you can. i laughed myself silly at almost every moment in this movie, but perhaps the funniest bit was when a south african accent just popped up out of nowhere. typical wes anderson humour, i suppose.
okay, i love meryl streep & i love alec baldwin – and i’m also a schmuck for these kind of movies (i have seen something’s gotta give more times than i’d care to admit, also by nancy meyers. you know what else she did? father of the bride! wah, i’m such a girl.)
