wonderland

kirsty mitchell is a fashion designer slash photographer from london whose photos i discovered on flickr.

probably the most impressive thing about these photos (besides the fact that they are so cool), is that she designed all the clothes herself, researched all the hair & make-up and all the “effects” are real. you can see all the behind the scene photos & stories at her blog.

space

Vincent Fournier‘s Space Project is just too beautiful (as you can see, i had a difficult time picking ones i liked… i may as well just have posted all the photographs).

bridesmaids

a friend of mine is getting married this year, so i’ve been helping her find inspiration for her wedding (another great excuse to peruse wedding sites, i suppose). came across this wedding on once wed (probably my favourite wedding blog) where the bridesmaids all wore different dresses, but still adhered to a particular style (in this case, short and leggy!)

beachy keen

i didn’t take a lot of photos this holiday because i was either eating, reading, drinking, eating, lying in the sun, snoozing, eating, drinking, walking on the beach, riding my bike, eating, napping etc etc. you know? but i did wander onto the beach one evening before sunset to take these shots. the sky really was all pink & blue! maaagical.

bañistas

going back to work on monday, but at least the weather will still be allowing this for the next few months…

africanis

In Daniel Naudé’s first solo show, he presents a world that appears to be a fairy tale, or a fictional place: We see a donkey with the grace of a race horse. Next to an impossibly beautiful rainbow, a white mule almost turns into a unicorn. The hills and veld that Naudé invites us to traverse are filled with wonderful creatures, each more proud, perfect, and present than the next.

morran

hey, happy new year!

one of my resolutions is to go out and see more stuff – even if it’s just “in my own backyard”, so to speak. there’s so much i haven’t seen that’s probably only in a 10-50km radius of my house, and i don’t want to keep putting things off till i have enough money to go travelling again. why do i need to get on a plane to see stuff, right?
