brand name pencils

a website dedicated entirely to brand name pencils. this is why i love the internet!

you will learn interesting bits of informaiton like this,

WWII-era pencils have very distinct cardboard or plastic ferrules . Metals were needed for the war effort so a hard cardboard or plastic replaced the nickel or brass previously used to house the eraser.

sad ladies

why do these beautiful vintage ladies look so sad? probably because they had to sit so still to have their photos taken.

click on the images for their sources.

it’s fun in the sun

these images are part of john van noate‘s collection, a very interesting guy on flickr who posts entire stories within his photo sets. like this one, parts of which made me laugh. and this one which is about his time at woodstock.

this particular set  is part of ‘the florida sex stories’ – but you have to be listed as a friend of mr. van noate to read them. if you’re curious and he decides you’re not some kind of pervert, he’ll let you.

going on the pics alone i’d say it makes for some interesting reading. yes that is bettie page.
