About half a year ago we had an idea of making a few accessories and selling them under thisipaper label. We spent the last few months  sewing our own pieces (mostly bags and rucksacks) and searching for suppliers of items we couldn’t make ourselves. we designed a few items for the kitchen – jars, mugs, manual juice squeezers and many more. The collection grew and Thisispaper Shop was born.

one thing i love about architecturally designed houses from that era was how often things were permanently built in – you’ll notice the sandstone benches and table in the outdoor entertainment area, as well as the sandstone shelving. not to mention that half-moon “couch” in the living room. no more agonising about what sofa you’re going to get, huh?

Anton Crone is a SA photographer & journalist who documents his African travels on his blog Bright Continent. on the surface it’s just amazing to see all the beautiful places that he has visited (Lake Malawi has long been one of my dream destinations) – but like the best travel blogs out there you gain a better understanding of life in Africa through the stories and anecdotes that he shares. i must admit i had something in my eye after reading this story of the Mfuwe school in Zambia.

if that day ever comes i would definitely not mind rocking a pair of wool gloves from argentinian label nido (i would also like one of those peach jerseys, please). their pieces are handknitted with 100% sheep wool which is “made from a women cooperative located in Mary Grande, a village near of Paraná, Entre Ríos. they shear their sheep, produce the fleece, spin them by hand on wooden distaff and dye the wool with colors extracted from nature: blackberry, onion, locust bark, eucalyptus leaves.”
