aaaah, cut outs! love the work of illustrator kate slater. but what really, really swayed me (besides her talent) is this pride & prejudice poster she did for her sister’s birthday. it’s my favourite quote too! i laugh just thinking about it.
(think the 1995 BBC, not the keira knightley version… )

i couldn’t choose my favourite illustrations from ZOO – so i’m basically posting them all.
We are a two and one-half persons menagerie in San Luis Obispo on California’s central coast: Mignon Khargie, Tom Fowler, 8-year old Hannah, and a picture of Pie, the world’s best dog. We all love to draw.

i just squealed my way through this entire set over at flickr. i thought it might be the perfect way to start your weekend off on the good foot. happy friday!

whilst perusing some back issues of frankie, i spotted these feltidermy pieces by girl savage. they made me smile.

i just love the pageantry of dog shows, and especially how the owners often look like their pets (the dogs also look either horribly embarrassed or completely elated to be there).

loads more at the crufts flickr gallery. happy friday!
my mom always sends me these forwarded emails, usually of cute animal stories. i couldn’t pass up posting this one (which you may or may not have seen before). i just love it! don’t know where it comes from and who took the pictures but, enjoy.

Samuli Heimonen: There is often something bigger than the human in my paintings. It may be an object, an animal or a construction. Most of the time people are part of that construction and live, as if, inside it and on its surfaces. My starting point is to show how things relate to people and how we humans interact…. The paintings are suggestions for possible worlds.
