Atem

ATEM caught my eye with their beautiful website and interesting lookbook (and the bags, of course). the brand was formed in 2011 by designer Nelson Abulencia, and is based in Germany. be sure to check out their site for more.

ATEM creates purity, finesse and quality in accessories. We like to call it contemporary timelessness. We enjoy attention to detail in everything we do and therefore only use carefully considered materials that satisfy our high understanding of quality & style. The strongest garments and smoothest leathers are crafted into functional design items with a sense of tactile simplicity. To ensure our vision translates into every item that leaves the studio we only work with contractors that share our idea of creating a highly durable contemporary modern classic.

Jujumade

i got an exciting email from Julie sharing the debut collection for her handmade accessories label Jujumade. you might recognise her ceramic pieces from that fantastic collaboration with Brook & Lyn that i shared in last year’s post about good hair. Julie’s pieces are composed of hand sculpted ceramic and leather elements – her soft leather bags look good enough to eat, though if i ever had to own one i’d probably just hang it on my wall to admire from afar (just too beautiful to haphazardly toss my wallet and makeup in, that’s for sure). be sure to explore the Jujumade website and online shop, and also follow Julie on instagram - where you will discover a scottish fold cat called Pancake (!!!)

Lalesso x Pichulik

south african designers Lalesso and Pichulik have joined forces to create a bag range that makes me want to do a little happy dance. Lalesso x Pichulik features 3 designs – a duffel, a purse and a foldover clutch – in a myriad of Lalesso fabrics, topped off with Pichulik’s signature ropes & accessories. very much a case of one of each, please.

Billie Sunday

it’s always great when a wonderfully creative lookbook draws you in, but it’s doubly awesome when you really LOVE the products that are being showcased. Billie Sunday is a new line of bags out of Barcelona by designers Mar Villegas and Emma Pardos. the lookbook for their first collection Sand Paradise, which is inspired by Palm Springs in the early 60s, unfolds over five days and plays out like a sunny sixties thriller. you can shop the collection here.

A collection that inserts you into the aesthetics and ordinary qualities of this American vacation paradise that consisted of no more than swimming pools, motels and palm trees surrounded by desert. The photographs taken by Las Coleccionistas, recollect the atmosphere of that particular place through stories, parties, neighborhoods, and pursuits which blend together as if it were a motion picture.
