Billie Sunday

it’s always great when a wonderfully creative lookbook draws you in, but it’s doubly awesome when you really LOVE the products that are being showcased. Billie Sunday is a new line of bags out of Barcelona by designers Mar Villegas and Emma Pardos. the lookbook for their first collection Sand Paradise, which is inspired by Palm Springs in the early 60s, unfolds over five days and plays out like a sunny sixties thriller. you can shop the collection here.

A collection that inserts you into the aesthetics and ordinary qualities of this American vacation paradise that consisted of no more than swimming pools, motels and palm trees surrounded by desert. The photographs taken by Las Coleccionistas, recollect the atmosphere of that particular place through stories, parties, neighborhoods, and pursuits which blend together as if it were a motion picture.

Building Block

you know that feeling you get when you’re super excited and nervous? say, before a date with someone you really like… or after you’ve just done something amazing like bunjee jumped or skinny dipped (with that someone you really like). heart palpitations might be the right word. WELL. i just got heart palpitations looking through the pieces at Building Block. god, it feels like i’m a teenager in love or something.

Building Block is a multi-medium design project based in Los Angeles, initiated in Tokyo by sisters Kimberly & Nancy Wu. Its focus moves freely in between luxury and industrial design where utilitarian materials and processes translate into minimalist forms. With the intent of magnifying essentials and editing out excess, Building Block finds continual inspiration in returning back to square one.

Anett Hajdu

i love the beautiful identity & packaging work that designer Miklos Kiss developed for fashion designer Anett Hajdu’s A/W 11/12 accessories collection. Miklos explains the design on his website:

Anett Hajdu’s accessories collection concept: in the chaos caused by contemporary and eclectic fashion trends, it is a pleasant feeling to turn toward to the style of puritanism what inspired by the nature and people costumes who are living with the nature. People and their everyday objects, animals and the atmosphere around the arctic circle provided a starting point for this design collection. Every single bag contains a unique individuality in hidden leather-jewels that helps us to perform as a part of the pure nature. These bags reveals the hidden animal from us. The packaging concept fits for the main design theory. The casing remind us for the meat industrial wrappings, the hunter accessories as well as a little Skandinavian sense.

and here’s the lookbook for the bags & headpieces from Annet’s website:
