Bon Appétit

i’m really excited to share the first Food & Fashion Mash-Ups series i did for Bon Appétit Magazine! which is a superb publication by the way, we don’t get it in South Africa but i was lucky enough to be given copies of their two latest issues. something i really appreciated was the beautiful design & layout of each issue – admittedly the first thing i look for in a magazine. i especially loved their story The Incredible Egg and the Insider’s Guide to Paris in their latest issue.

see the post here and keep a look out for a new one every week.

Into the Jungle

let me explain to you how this usually goes. i start browsing through my trusted roll of street style blogs, opening my favourite looks in new tabs, then i usually have a gander at bukowski’s to see what new art they have on their books (the internet isn’t fun if you don’t multi-task) which leads to a couple of mmmm moments. mmm this is an interesting theme. mmm these look good together. and then blammo! mashup magic happens.

yes, that’s how it usually goes.

Food & Art

ooooh you’re in for a treat! regular readers will be familiar with catherine of wolf eyebrows (if you guys don’t read her blog already, you should). i have said this before but sometimes i think cath is my blog twin, we have very similar tastes in almost everything. she’s put together a visual comparison treat for you – check out some of her other art & food posts here and here and make sure to follow catherine on twitter & pinterest. she also blogs for Nice Work which is an excellent inspirational resource for designers or anyone into all things creative.

Some of you may know that Diana and I run a tumblr dedicated to the most important meal of the day: breakfast. So when I was asked to contribute a guest post to this wonderful blog my mind immediately wandered to all things culinary.

Since Diana is the queen of artistic and aesthetic comparisons, I decided to create a series of visual comparisons that marry my love of food with my appreciation for art. I hope they satisfy your eyes and your stomachs.
