find out where to buy below…
i don’t make birthday wish lists in real life, and i don’t particularly like being asked what i want for my birthday. i’m a firm believer in giving someone a gift that you really want them to have, doesn’t matter how big or small it is… or how weird it may be (a basket of cheese, for example, would be a great gift in my opinion). but since it’s my birthday on sunday i thought why not make an imaginary wish list in the form of a nice things post? why not, i say! perhaps it’s your birthday soon, in which case you can send this post to your loved ones for some splendid gift ideas. happy birthday september babies.
it’s a public holiday today in south africa and i’m officially on holiday! which means i now have to start doing my christmas shopping. as much as i inwardly groan thinking about the crowds, truth is i love giving people gifts. and, well, i enjoy receiving gifts too… here are a few things from my sponsors i would love to find in my christmas stocking.
there was a time in my life when shopping for stationery was basically the most exciting thing i could think of. nagging my mom to buy me a new pencil case – “i can’t have the same pencil case as last year!” – and then covering it in all manner of stickers , tippex and permanent marker. filling it with precious items like an untouched eraser and kokis that weren’t dry yet (what do you call a koki outside of south africa?) covering my school books with pictures from magazines and clear contact paper – without making any bubbles.
