as cheesy as it may sound, one of the highlights of my childhood was coming downstairs on Christmas morning and seeing all the colourful presents under the tree. i was under no illusion that Father Christmas had put it there, i knew it was my mom. but it was special nonetheless! now-a-days i find the wrapping almost as exciting as what’s inside, and i always appreciate special wrapping paper or when someone has really gone to the effort of making the package look beautiful.
ho-ho-ho-holy crap it’s christmas already!
(that’s me, obviously happy with my christmas loot)
i hope you have a lovely day, whether you’re in the snow or the sun… my christmas is going to consist of opening gifts sometime late morning (or rather, watching as my young nieces and nephews tear open their presents, and then ask if they can open mine too).
i’m thinking about christmas already. sigh. my family has instituted a one gift per person R100 limit (to combat the “meltdown“). i told them R100 is almost impossible, so i’m shooting for under 200 bucks. anything handmade is great to me, and anything i can order online is even better. if i can walk to a shop – wonderful, but that kind of limits you geographically & since i’m out in “the sticks” (as some might say) i welcome e-commerce with open arms (i’m also lazy). PLUS i’d also like to inject some christmas cheer into the south african postal service (i have faith!) – herewith my south african friendly online shopping gift guide
