i remember the first time i discovered Homepolish. i ended up browsing all their home tours, pinning away like some kind of madwoman. Homepolish offers affordable interior design by the hour. basically you sign up, tell them about your project, and they connect you with one of their talented interior designers. you can buy a single day session or a more extensive design package, whatever suits your budget.
when i was at university (in the early 2000s – holla!) the only real inspiration we got were from magazines and books, before the magic of the blog world exploded. i didn’t like many of the mags that were available to me, except for frankie magazine. they were hard to come by in south africa then. i used to scour the shops to come across that elusive copy and i still have all of them! so to say i have a soft spot for frankie is an understatement.
i just could not resist sharing the incredible apartment of Madelynn Furlong that was featured by The Everygirl (which, as it turns out, has a plethora of amazing home tours on this new-to-me blog – duly bookmarked). Madelynn is a stylish & talented 24-year-old who is an assistant designer at Target, a stylist with Hackwith Design House and blogger at Wide Eyed Legless. her home, shared by husband Caylon and pooch Benzel, is the ultimate example of creating a beautiful space on a budget. wow, wow, wow.
photographer Kate Berry recently snapped the lovely Melbourne home of creative couple Kristy & Marky. Marky is a musician, currently touring with his band Monnone Alone, and Kristy is the talented lady behind fashion label Kuwaii. i just had to include scenes from her cool little shop (also photographed by Kate) and some of my favourite pieces from her latest collection Landscape.
