that time i went to italy

some of the photos from my first trip to italy in 2003. it was a pretty extensive jaunt around the country including places like venice, firenze, pisa, luca, san gimignano, siena, assisi, collepino, trevi, rome, pompei, the amalfi coast and lots of wee towns inbetween. they SAY it was the hottest summer in italy for 200 years that year (or something silly) – but apparently the oldies were topping over it was so hot. and it was! luckily everyone enjoys sitting around and just chilling out. i loved it, and it’s very much like the movies sometimes – bella italia etc etc.

Famous film director Guido Contini struggles to find harmony in his professional and personal lives, as he engages in dramatic relationships with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother.

i can overlook the fact that it’s a musical because (a) daniel day-lewis and (b) sophia loren. also, (c) marion cotillard (d) penélope cruz (e) judi dench. i’m a bit puzzled as to why kate hudson & fergie from the black eyed peas were also cast but, there you go. oh nicole kidman is also in it, i wonder if her face moves.

amalfi

from a trip to italy, 2003. i remember it being reported as the hottest italian summer in decades – that water was heaven.

i do realise that’s two italian summery posts in the space of 2 days – but i’m craving warm weather!

take 100′s of pictures of one thing, and you have a book

this dude took hundreds of pics of doorbells in florence, and now it’s going to be a book. PRETTAY cool. so, i guess, go to some rad euro city (or any other place!) and start taking pictures, folks.
