i spent a fair amount of time clicking around the AYR website because (a) they have beautiful clothes and (b) the website is soooooo nice to look at & use. i particularly love the little wheel you can click on to select different colours of the same product (see this rad dress as an example). i actually hadn’t heard of AYR before, but they focus on a few products done well (think Everlane) – great denim (loads of choices!), chambray, cashmere, tees, simple dresses and the like.
Jack/Knife Outfitters is a small batch production house based in San Francisco. John, Nick and Melissa make all their garments by hand in their studio – from pattern drafting, to sewing, to pounding rivets. specialising in denim, they have also recently branched out into cotton pieces. beautiful unisex shirts and awesome barn jackets are the order of the day. you can buy their pieces online, or order something custom made for that perfect fit – Jack/Knife keeps your custom pattern on file for future orders.
Neuw Denim is a Melbourne based label that pays homage to the heritage of denim. the name comes from the street Nieuwlandstraat in Brussels, Belgium where owner & designer Par Lundqvist started tailoring and altering vintage pieces from his own denim archive (he has a personal collection of over 3,500 pairs of jeans! *) They describe themselves as having, “a deep and unsettling love for Denim Pants.” if you’re a denim lover be sure to check out their instagram and shop.
i’m just filing this away right here for when the time is right. our summer is still in full swing – so high waisted flared jeans worn with boots, socks, tucked in shirts, jerseys, coats and all the best things in the world aren’t an option right now. i look at these outifts the same way someone on a diet might look at a food blog.
