okay, i love meryl streep & i love alec baldwin – and i’m also a schmuck for these kind of movies (i have seen something’s gotta give more times than i’d care to admit, also by nancy meyers. you know what else she did? father of the bride! wah, i’m such a girl.)
Famous film director Guido Contini struggles to find harmony in his professional and personal lives, as he engages in dramatic relationships with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother.
i can overlook the fact that it’s a musical because (a) daniel day-lewis and (b) sophia loren. also, (c) marion cotillard (d) penélope cruz (e) judi dench. i’m a bit puzzled as to why kate hudson & fergie from the black eyed peas were also cast but, there you go. oh nicole kidman is also in it, i wonder if her face moves.
I want my work to have the whole world in it, and i want it to mean everything to everyone… but i don’t… want to add anything.
(untitled) looks QUITE amusing
Air popped up on my playlist this morning, which of course made me think of The Virgin Suicides. one of those movies that i love, but hardly ever watch. i think most girls my age can relate when i say this film had an impact on my teenage days (i was 16 when it came out). we were the same age as the lisbon chicks (but, hopefully, not as sheltered/melancholic/suicidal) and we all kind of had a thing for josh hartnett.
these are scans from the may 2000 issue of the face
the irresistible combination of the visuals and music of this film must have inspired thousands of girls to create flickr photo sets that are dreamy + ethereal and heavily photoshopped to look pastel + lovely. sophia coppola is their queen, as you can also pick up in the recent ad she did for miss dior cherie:
it’s all very pretty though, isn’t it?
they are a couple in real life too, i think. aw.
