More & Co.

More & Co. is a little shop that deals in everyday objects – “the ones that surround us, the ones we reach for again and again”. every few months they release a new collection based on a theme or a certain set of ideas. Two Feet On The Ground is their latest.

Every year as the air chills and the sun thins, we settle in. It’s time to cook, organize, clean house, see friends, drink red wine. Plant your feet on the ground and find balance for the coming season with this collection.

À Capucha!

wow there seems to be some seriously cool stuff coming out of Portugal lately. i recently featured Portuguese brands SUL and Nomad, now À Capucha! is the latest to add to that list. i mean, something that has an exclamation mark in its actual name has to be good, right? right!

À Capucha! is recreating the capucha, a traditional Portuguese garment, used by shepherds and farmers. the brand forms part of design consultancy Estufa, and was born to explore the convergence of design and manufacturing.

The “Capucha” is a traditional Portuguese garment, used by shepherds and farmers. it is made of burel (100% wool) and is impermeable. Our capuchas are handmade by the artisans of remote villages, who still have secrets and unique ways of manufacturing. In this project, we commit ourselves not to let the portuguese artisanal techniques disappear, by contributing to a sustainable production and by protecting a heritage that makes us unique and timeless.

they have a beautifully designed website & online shop – go check it out!

Seaworthy SS15

while i was away Marisa from Seaworthy sent me the lookbook for her new SS15 collection Meta. i have blogged about her beautiful pieces before, and she even sponsored the blog for a time – so I am always excited to see what she has in store.

Meta being the prefix that often means later, after or beyond. This collection feels like the natural progression for Seaworthy – we’ve added fine metals and more sophisticated silhouettes.  As well as pieces that are designed to have options. Like wearing the Lanata necklace short or long and how the Inga can morph from a double layer to a single drop.

her lookbooks are also always so gorgeous. the photography and layout is by Mikola Accuardi, styling by Sarah Radcliffe of Yo Vintage, hair and makeup by Kassandra Sommerville. modeled by Emily Mills. Portland is brimming with some talented women.

shop the collection here. my favourites are the Carica earrings and the Leilus necklace.

Olivia Terrell

sometimes i like jewellery to be delicate & almost unnoticeable, something that peeks out from the folds of your blouse or is so innocuous you only notice when the light catches it at a certain angle. other times, i want my jewellery to be so big and bold that strangers stop me in the street to ask where i got it. i think designer Olivia Terrell treads this line pretty well.

olivia is a jewelry artist, designer, & maker living in madrid, spain with her husband. born and raised in nashville, tennessee, olivia has always been influenced by her southern roots, but now with her spanish surroundings, she is finding new inspiration in the culture, colors, architecture, food, & vibrant people she encounters. olivia values the process of creation, and loves watching each piece go from initial sketch to final product. the beauty of her craft & handiwork is that there are never two exactly identical pieces: there are imperfections; there are flaws. it’s a sign of life & a gift: from the maker to the wearer.

Reformation

every day i go online i think, this is it – there’s nothing new for me to discover. i know all the clothing designers, i have seen it all. nope. wrong. every day there’s something new-to-me. i was actually surprised i hadn’t come across Reformation before (pardon me Americans if i am super slow on the uptake, so uncool!) they make these damn beautiful dresses that you can buy in a variety of colours & patterns. yes! that’s the dream.

oh, and there’s a wedding section which is pretty sweet. i could see a cool bride in this.

i really shouldn’t have to introduce Young Frankk to you by now. Christine Young’s jewellery line has been featured here countless times – and it is as beautiful as ever. this is her new FW14 collection, which you can shop here.

This collection was mainly inspired by the cavern formations found in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. Each piece was first hand sculpted in wax then cast in either Bronze, 14k Gold Plated Bronze, 14k Rose Gold Plated Bronze or Sterling Silver using gold filled or sterling silver findings and chains.
