have recently been introduced to two new personal style blogs that have gone straight into my reader. milk teeths that was recommended to me…
here’s another i can’t believe i haven’t posted about this yet post. but the truth is, it’s sort of like talking about the sartorialist. “hey, have you guys heard about this blog called the sartorialist?! it’s this guy who takes beautiful photos of rad people on the street who dress nicely! it’s beyond awesome.” that’s how it feels posting about megan of another day to dress up, i just assume that everyone knows about her. every outfit she wears makes me go, oh noooo i want it too. so if you’re one of the handful of people who don’t follow her blog already – do it.
pretty much obsessed with the delightful jade castrinos right now. flickr credits: lydaux ; kirstiecat ; nikki debardlebon ; cody cloud
for some reason i always thought i had posted about dear golden vintage, but turns out i haven’t…. which is strange considering lauren’s blog is one of my favourites. not only does she stock her shop with the most incredible vintage items, but she also has great personal style (naturally)
and dresses! and that coat!
tamu mcpherson collaborated with eva fontanelli for elle italia’s street style section
i get such a glowing sense of pride when i see south africans making it internationally. in this case it’s model marike le roux from potchefstroom who’s appeared on the cover of vogue turkey and walked for a ton of big name designers (hervé léger, marc jacobs, max azria, alexander mcqueen, chloé, louis vuitton, sonia rykiel, prada, elie saab etc etc.) read this little interview with her for more info.
so i said the other day that kirsten dunst deserves her own style post, and while i was cleaning up my computer i found some old photos i had saved to my ‘inspiration folder’ (before i started saving things online aka blogging everything i liked…) one thing i noticed about kirsten is that she’s years ahead of the trends; all these photos are from between 2004 – 2008 and she’s rocking stuff that girls are all wearing now (military jackets, breton stripes, clog type platforms, doc martens – the list goes on and on). anyway i’ve always loved her & find her taste pretty impeccable and effortless, will have to do an update one of these days of kirsten circa 2010…
kirsten dunst deserves her own mega post because she has such great style, but for now please appreciate her waltzing around in this miu…
hold on a second while i mentally jump up and down from excitement at the discovery of this local style blog bluestockings, by emma durr & michelle gow (transplants from england and canada respectively). as far as i can see most of these photos were taken in stellenbosch in and around the university campus, which means i am doubly excited. nice little interviews, quality writing, beautiful photos and excellent local style is the word of the day at bluestockings
it is not often that you see street style photos of a model wearing something other than skin tight jeans or teeny tiny shorts (why shouldn’t they, i suppose?) that’s why i love these shots of frida gustavsson wearing a classic vintage dress that actually goes past her knees… and has long sleeves to boot. demure can be sexy, ladies.
such a nice way to do a bow, from keiko lynn
did you hear that? it’s the sound of carey mulligan in prada, knocking it out of the park at cannes
you don’t see ladies in long skirts / dresses much anymore. above image from citizen couture above image from another day to dress up
m.i.a. at last night’s met costume institute gala. if the word fierce didn’t suck so much now, it would apply here. go here to…
