here’s a bit of fun for you on this fine Saturday. maybe you went out last night, had a few drinks, or smashed two bottles of great wine over dinner (yes that’s what we did). in which case it’s highly possible you’re in the mood for a big juicy burger right now to get your weekend going. Fat & Furious Burger is a project by french graphic designers Thomas & Quentin, of Studio Furious, who started putting together elaborate burger ideas during their lunch breaks.
i’m not usually a fan of the fantasy photoshop, but this image by spanish photographer ibai acevedo made me look twice
he has some other nice imagery as well…
i was fiddling around with my parents’ old toyocaflex camera on sunday – looking through the viewfinder, focusing in and out and wishing it still worked (and that i had some film). instead i wandered around their garden shooting with my own camera and attempted to create the look i wanted in photoshop. some of these are a bit hit & miss, but i kind of like the way they turned out – more at my flickr.
superheroes placed in political & wartime scenes by Agan Harahap (though i’m not sure if vader qualifies as a superhero)
it’s actually pretty funny to see superman standing amongst the allied soldiers (in that scene, neuschwanstein castle in bavaria). there is a book called the monuments men which i have been meaning to pick up, which tells the story of the group of curators, archivists, artists & art historians who set out to find all the art and other treasures that the nazis had looted and hidden across europe during WWII. check out their official website, it’s super interesting.
