Hsiao-Ron Cheng

Hsiao-Ron Cheng

Hsiao-Ron Cheng is a Taiwanese digital artist & illustrator whose work i discovered via Cath of Wolf Eyebrows (whose blog is consistently great – follow her!) she is commissioned for work by various clients in the fashion and design industries, but i most love her wonderful fashion portraits that she does for self promotional purposes.

François Henri Galland

François Henri Galland

last week i hung some pictures in our apartment. Anton has lived there since 2010 and i moved in a few years ago – and till last week there were hardly any pictures up. which is crazy, right? considering how much i love art and surrounding myself with it. i guess it’s harder when there are two of you, and you have to compromise on what both of you like (and where it should go!) anyway now that those first few pics are up things are starting to snowball, and my thoughts are occupied with filling all the blank spaces.

Kim McCarty

Kim McCarty

i love the watercolours of artist Kim McCarty.

Working rapidly, at times using only a single color and at others a haunting, bruise-inspired palette of acid yellows, greens, and browns, McCarty’s portraits evoke the sense of uncertainty, ambivalence, anxiety, and loss with which we view today’s generation.

Alan Reid

004

Alan Reid is an artist based in NYC who works with colour pencils. reading up about him i discovered,

his representational images of heiresses, bored fashionistas and aquiline beauties that have been called provocatively light, with coloring as delicate as his women are elegant. The work invites reasoning, provocation and negotiation of absurdist scenarios involving majestic women in insipid situations.

Mes Dames A/W 12

mesdames

it goes without saying that i fell in love with the Mes Dames A/W 12 campaign the minute i saw it, since it so beautifully combines my love for classic fashion and art. shot by photographer Anna Malmberg, the campaign takes inspiration from 19th century oil portraits and especially the work of Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck. Mes Dames designer Lisa Wikander will be showing her latest collection at Stockholm fashion week this year.
