Onehundredforty

onehundredforty

this is one of the coolest things i’ve seen in a while. Onehundredforty is an art experiment that merges smart programming with beautiful design to make personal art prints – from a tweet of your choice. basically you select a tweet, Onehundredforty generates your design, and they print and send it to you.

Archist

architect-preview

since it’s a bit of a design slash art history day around here – i dig these clever Archist posters by Italian architect & designer Federico Babina, where he imagines what buildings by 27 famous artists would look like (Architect + Artist – get it!)

A Poster A Day

Alex Proba // A POSTER A DAY

Alex Proba is a German designer, now based in New York, who spends 30 minutes of her day after work designing a poster – A Poster A Day. she has made 250 so far. the poster designs are a combination of manipulated found imagery and designs and patterns that Alex created herself. i love these kind of self-initiated projects that push already busy creative people to flex creative muscles that might otherwise be neglected in a working environment.

adam simpson & the baftas

i don’t know how i hadn’t seen these until now. adam simpson was commissioned to do an interpretation of the five best film nominees for the brochure artwork of this year’s BAFTAS (which was on 13 february) – um, WOW!

black swan ltd/ed

if you haven’t seen the black swan limited edition movie posters by now, you’re about to! i’ve been excited to see this film ever since those teaser images were released of natalie portman in full ballerina mode.

2010

if you don’t live in south africa or you’re not a football (aka soccer) fan, you probably don’t know or don’t care that the football world cup is in 22 days (you’d be one of a small percentage, if that’s the case). ever since we were nominated as hosts in 2004 world cup 2010 has been coming out of our ears – and by now you’re either on the edge of your seat with excitement or you just want it to be over (or both). i personally haven’t paid too much attention, and never thought i would ever do a football 2010 post – until i saw these posters.
