my friend amy and i decided to do a photoshoot. she had all these vintage clothes and i had my mom’s fancy digital nikon (which i didn’t know how to use). we also had a garage, a white sheet (backdrop), a standing lamp (professional lighting), curlers (that we also didn’t know how to use), crappy makeup and our wits.
alix of the cherry blossom girl – nice photography & cool outfits (fashion blogs are most of the time far more interesting & creative than magazine editorials, wouldn’t you say?)
london in the early 1970s – via another nickel in the time machine
look, i’m enough of a girl to admit that i enjoy gossip girl as much as the next girl (girl). and all chicks dig chuck bass. he looks slightly gay in some of them, but so be it. check out the slideshow at GQ.
I have pledged to wear one dress for one year as an exercise in sustainable fashion. Here’s how it works: There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day I will reinvent the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies.
oh god, her hair! i’d like to think mine is looking similar these days (minus the fringe), but perhaps i am suffering from delusions of grandeur.
liv tyler, sometime in the early/mid nineties. on trend. i’m actually kind of loving this revival right now. at least the short skirt, tights & check print part of it. much more my vibe than the neon craze that swept through a couple of years back. as long as chokers don’t make a comeback.
