Sarah Illenberger is the phenomenal German artist renowned for her legendary craftwork – you will recognise much of her work, including that much loved Meloncholy image that formed part of her Tutti Frutti series.
if there is one movie you need to see right now, it is Her. i knew the vague premise of the film before i watched it, i might even have been a little skeptical, but i chose not to watch any trailers or read anything about it before viewing. that is why i’m not going to tell you anything about the story or give you my opinion on the characters or what develops – i just want you to watch it. Her is visually stunning, the art direction and styling is wonderful. it is just an absolute joy for the eyeballs. go see it!
Need Supply Co has been doing some amazing lookbooks lately, a particular favourite of mine was It’s In The Bag which featured those rad Falconwright pouches. they have just collaborated with Jennifer Hagler of A Merry Mishap who, if you don’t follow already, has incredible taste & such a beautiful aesthetic – be sure to follow her blog, pinterest and instagram. she is also a talented jewellery maker.
my friends Mariah & Amy are two of the most stylish and talented people i know. they started their business Gather a few years back, styling events and putting together new spaces like the geniuses they are. i’m so excited to finally share more of their work with you as i just finished their new website!
i bookmarked these portraits by jelmar geertsma before i even had the blog, and by some happy circumstance rediscovered them this week when i was trawling through old favourites on a mission to find something else (don’t you love it when that happens?) things organised neatly and portraiture all in one = yes. jelmar explains,
I am a 22 year old graphic design student, born and raised in the dark forests of Sweden. I take pictures to remember, to preserve a passing moment and to distinguish interesting details from their otherwise average surroundings. I love traveling and take my best pictures when I travel. I have a fondness for all things vintage, typography and morning light. I have spent most of my life thinking I cannot draw. I am not yet convinced of the contrary, but at least now I am trying.
my friend amy and i decided to do a photoshoot. she had all these vintage clothes and i had my mom’s fancy digital nikon (which i didn’t know how to use). we also had a garage, a white sheet (backdrop), a standing lamp (professional lighting), curlers (that we also didn’t know how to use), crappy makeup and our wits.
