it’s going to be spring soon! though our tricksy south african weather has been making everyone assume it’s spring already (this has probably been the mildest and most glorious winter in recent memory.) i bet we’re in for one more crazy cold front before the proper hot weather hits us though - remember when it snowed in august?

My favorite thing to collect is probably old photographs just because I love making up stories about all of them and getting a glimpse into the past. Plus, I think they’re the best source of inspiration when in comes to outfits. These photos in particular are especially special because they’re all from the same couple of people. It looks like it was a family and their friends and other family members and the photos span throughout 1936-1938.

on the beach is a collection of super large format images by american photographer richard misrach, taken from a room in a high rise hotel in hawaii over the course of 3 years.
