it’s been a while since i shared something from Nido, the wonderful Argentinian based knitwear brand that makes handwoven accessories from naturally dyed wool. they have just launched a new project called Telar – branching out into artisan textiles that are handmade using a weaving loom, in the traditional Argentinian style.

Archive New York was started by textile designer Amira Marion, who creates digital collections from vintage and antique fabric remnants. they hunt down rare & unique textiles and transform them into these colourful silk prints. how cool is that?

i can always count on the Australians to be on the same wavelength as us. weather wise, at least. i often get emails from overseas people who then round off with, “hope you’re enjoying the summer!” well it’s winter here, actually. hope you’re enjoying your summer, though! the Aussies and the rest of us southern hemispheareans are dreaming of summer. even a winter baby like me, i am quite cheerful these days when the sun comes out.

Saana Sipilä and Olli Sallinen are a couple from Finland who met at a music festival, started dating, studied textile design together and then launched a range of sustainably produced textiles under the name Saana ja Olli. for their new collection Olli cites the influences of small town living as a great inspiration, as well as the 90s TV show Northern Exposure which left a lasting impression on him. you can buy all their wares at their online shop.
