dear vintage satchel, it was love at first sight for you and me. unfortunately someone else bought you before i could, and now i’m left searching etsy for satchels just as nice… but nothing compares to you.
i have never been a major louis vuitton fan (besides for some of their great ad campaigns, usually shot by annie leibovitz), but the fall / winter 2010 collection caught my eye when the ever classic laetitia casta walked the runway looking amazing in a very vintage style dress. the ad campaign for the fall line is equally beautiful. the dresses… the shoes…. love the choice of models, too. this was shot by steven meisel, by the by.
the kind of dress up party i’d actually get excited about – all photos by mr. newton
lollycrisp vintage has some serious gems
i don’t ever feature contemporary men’s fashion because (a) i have no interest in it and (b) 99% of the time it’s too metro looking for my liking. do people still use that term, metrosexual? well i hope you understand what i mean. it’s more about aesthetics really – i appreciate men who don’t wear their pants down their bums, who steer clear of t-shirts with arbitrary slogans (or anything made by ed hardy), who wear clean shoes, who tuck in their shirts, who don’t undo their buttons all the way down to their chests, who don’t wear jewellery – things that are just supposed to come naturally. other than that i don’t really group men and fashion in the same category.
