vintage fashion

the thrift collection

pippa and meg from durban emailed me about their new vintage source the thrift collection,

we’re in the business of scouring vintage and 2nd hand stores for pre-loved items that we lovingly repair, clean and re-button in the hopes of finding them new homes (in a way, we’re kind of like the fashion SPCA). All of our items are priced between R10 and R40 (if it’s a little more expensive than that, you know you’re getting something truly special). every month we will unveil a new collection – each with it’s own name – and for our market debut we will be featuring our peggy collection. where you can find once loved skirts, dresses, jackets, shirts, blouses, accessories, belts, bags and shoes. We have also added to our collection a range of lucky packets, full to the brim with goodies that will make you feel like a kid again.

they can be found every month at the I Heart Market from september onwards and online where they also take orders and requests. sounds very cool, if you’re in durban be sure to go check them out.

slacks

first spotted this over at stay fancy free – they were taken by nina leen who churned out countless of amazing photographs that i’m happily discovering all over the internet. how amusing are these college girls parading around in their slacks? what a revelation. looking good.

mad men casting call

okay okay there will be no more mad men posts for a while, this is the last one i promise

have you voted in the mad men casting call competition? basically people take photos of themselves in mad men era get-ups hoping to win a walk on role in an episode of the show. rad! i have to say i do not agree with who is top ranked right now…. these are my personal favourites (click on the pics to be taken to their pages to vote)
