hahaha. oh man. these made my day. self portraits of alex holder (of oli + alex) and her boyfriend recreating mills & boons covers. photographed by oli kellett
“sometimes we sit for hours staring at a sea shell. other times he’ll hold me by the neck in front of the pyramids. but there’s nothing we like more than nearly kissing each other near some horses. i always try to look hot in front of him so he doesn’t leave me.”
thanks to my internet friend rebecca jesson for sharing this on facebook (sometimes facebook is good for something) – also check out james face by oli, another highlight of my day.

hahaha! What a quirky thing to do, I love it! Can you make requests for a specific cover? haha.
Hilarious. Amazing! I am sure they had quite a few laughs doing this.

I just laughed for a solid half hour…those James Face pics are classic!!

hahah these are perfect.
these are hilarious…i’m impressed that she found a teal jumpsuit!
diana, have you seen this: http://www.worldoflongmire.com/features/romance_novels/
this is what I call a good distraction :)
p.s. I once had to give lecture on Mills & Moon to a bunch of undergraduate students as part of “the history of the romance genre” course. Neither I or the students could stop laughing whenever I quoted from a Mills & Boon novel. Best lecture ever.
Hahahaha, wow, this really made my day! I would love to see her doing victorian and medieval covers:)

guilty pleasures are such. i want that mint jumpsuit. that site’s hilarious.
Wow, this is one of the greatest project ideas ever. I want to be them. Thanks for sharing this!
James’ Face is possibly the most hilarious thing I’ve seen all year. The comments that James actually posts make it that much more hysterical. Best!
Very entertaining! My ultimate Mills & Boon favourite was found at the Brenton-on-Sea caravan park cafe whilst on a leadership camp at the age of 16. In between sneaking cigarettes behind our chalet, I found this gem – ‘The Duke Wore Jeans’. A-MA-ZING! I have never forgotten the archetypal tale of an undercover duke in the countryside. Riveting stuff.
you rule the “I find the best/coolest/quirkiest stuff one the interwebs” department… these R.O.C.K.
of course I meant “on the interwebs”… how embarrassing…
That is really hysterical!
Hilarious. I am having so much fun picturing the process of capturing these shots. Her BF is a keeper for sure.
Amazing! Also they remind me of Richard Prince’s Nurse project!
