This is a series of family photos taken by a Mr.E.A. Ife, mostly in the 1920s. They lived in Cassio Road, Watford, and Mr. Ife ran the ‘Post Office Savings Club Photographic Society’ from there.

a simply amazing set of photos from the collection of Mike / Abaraphobia

all photographs are from the collection of Mike / Abaraphobia

  1. Ah! That pic of the little girl in the hat playing ball is my favorite! Great collection!

  2. these photos are just wonderful! I’m obsessed with the 2nd and the last one–sooo good

  3. These are beautiful. I often work on illustrated local history books, and the images that survive from that period are often just those that interest postcard collectors the most – so old buildings etc – you see the social side of things much more rarely. These have such an innocent and calm feeling to them – the last one in particular. They’re absolutely fantastic, what a great find.

  4. Thanks for making a feature of some of my photos- and for the kind comments!!
I wish you’d done it on the 30th of July, though, as that’s my Birthday!! ;)
There should be more to come from this series soon!?
