i haven’t been thinking about the wedding much at all lately, partly because it’s 7 months away (actually… not so far away if you think about it), and partly because i’ve been busy with other things, but mostly because i get a bit overwhelmed every time i think about it. so much to plan, so many decisions to make. etc. so whenever i see a beautiful simple wedding i feel quite relieved and see a glimmer of hope at the end of the wedding planning tunnel.

one such wedding is that of Kirsty & Simon, who had a wonderful laid back Aussie beach affair. they had a taco truck at their reception. how coooool and delicious is that! the photographs were taken by the very talented Brooke Holm who said of the day,

“It was a beautiful summer’s day down on the Great Ocean Road when Kirsty (who runs the super cute blog Otis and Otto) and Simon were to be married. I went along for the ride to take some photos for them and I must say it was one of the best weddings I have ever been to. Everything was wonderfully styled and planned, a gorgeous paper flower backdrop and other paper decorations were created by the talented Marsha Golemac and everyone was just relaxing and having a great time.”

yes, that’s what it’s all about.

So, so perfect. My husband and I had a very intimate wedding: less than 20 guests. My husband’s brother played guitar as a walked down the “aisle” of a beautiful parlor room situated in the oldest church in Portland (that is no longer a church, but an event space) wearing a vintage gown and a crown of flowers I made myself. We then all met up at our favorite brunch spot. It was just lovely.
