if you’re a Capetonian you’ll be familiar with Swedish fashion designer Alexandra Höjer, and her beautiful clothing which she sells from her boutique in Kloof Street. i had heard that she had a new shop in the works, but had no idea how cool it was until i stumbled upon it a few weeks ago in everyone’s favourite Bree Street.
this is the Alexandra Höjer Atelier, a more high end (and rock ‘n roll) addition to her line. the space itself is just amazing – it’s a former warehouse, typical for this area of town, that now houses Alexandra’s store front, decorated with vintage pieces (including a badass BMW), gold & copper accents – check out the hangers – as well as interesting lighting to set the mood. the Josef Frank wallpaper in the bathroom made me want to spend an inordinate amount of time in there.
Alexandra’s studio and work space is in the back of the shop, where her sweet staffie seems to keep an eye on everything from his spot on the leather couch. this studio gives her the freedom to create new designs on the spot, but also interact with customers who pop in during the day. the Atelier line caters for men and women, and you’ll be sure to find beautiful & unique pieces made from quality fabrics. i currently have my eye on winter coats & capes, as well as some gorgeous leather pieces.
pay her a visit at 156 Bree Street. all photographs by me, you can see the entire set here.

the locker table and drawers are to die for, love the gold desk lamp too! x
This is such a chic space, i would kill for it, and her studio!

Love everything about this shop, what a gorgeous aesthetic! Any way of finding out where the hangers come from? I’m dying for some clean, minimalist hangers for my clothes rack. Thanks!
Beautiful photos Diana! I was in there today, loved the decor.
