i have been looking through all the Spring 2014 shows at NYFW, which is still ongoing, and i was really taken by this collection from NY based designer Lyn Devon. i had actually never heard of her before (even though she has been releasing collections since 2011) but her pieces appealed to me straight away because they are so wearable. i actually thought that the summer dresses in particular would be amazing to wear on holiday somewhere warm – and then i read the review of her show on Style.com, and now everything makes perfect sense.

A pre-wedding honeymoon in the Sahara Desert and Marrakech was the starting point for newlywed Lyn Devon‘s Spring collection. “I don’t travel a lot, so usually I’m imagining what a girl might want to wear in a faraway place,” the designer said today in her Upper East Side studio. “This time I actually knew.”

Ooh yes, i saw this collection and was very impressed by it too. I kind of like living in the southern hemisphere, and getting to be inspired for the upcoming summer, when looking at all of the SS2014 collections coming out now. I think it is much nicer for us than for everyone in the north, being tempted by all the lovely summer dresses and clothes, when they are actually heading into autumn and winter!

what a beautiful, thoughtful collection. I can almost sense the places she’s been or longs to go.
