i always look forward to hearing from Whitney of LA-based Myrtle because the seasonal lookbooks for her fantastic shop are a thing of beauty. this time was no different, except it WAS different – because instead of using talented photographers, Whitney commissioned six artists to illustrate the FW13 lookbook.
I’ve been privileged to work with some wonderful photographers in the past, but this time I was inspired by all the wonderful young artists I interact with. The lookbook has been drawn by six artists: Mayumi Nose, Alice Rutherford, and Ellen Surrey from Los Angeles; Tuesday Bassen and Kimberly Ellen Hall from New York; and Gracie Chai from Singapore. Each has brought their own style to their favorite designers and pieces from the shop.
Artists: Tuesday Bassen (@tuesdaybassen) / Gracie Chai (@graciechai) / Kimberly Ellen Hall (@nottene_kim) / Mayumi Nose (@mayonose) /Alice Rutherford (@therealalicke) / Ellen Surrey (@yesurrey). Clothing: Myrtle (see the lookbook for details on all the items the “models” are wearing).

Thanks for the love guys (esp. Jessie, I am a big fan of your work as well!!!) Myrtle is such an awesome shop!
Beautiful and so refreshing to see a different approach. With imagery so easy to come by nowadays and ‘everyone’ being a photographer the hand-made and hand illustrated has so much more value…..lovely blog btw
