so last week i came down with the mother of all colds. right now i have a cough so fierce you might think i’m a seasoned smoker (i’m not). apparently they call it a productive cough. well, my cough is being super productive. me – not so much. i have been resting and drinking lots of water and playing too much plants vs zombies on my iPad.
to cheer myself up i paid a visit to my old friend Jessica’s restaurant The Table over the weekend for a spot of brunch. Jess and i have known each other since we were 7, and in my mind we are still just kids – you know? but she’s a grown ass woman who makes amazing food and owns her own restaurant with her husband, Luke.
up till now they’ve only been serving lunch on the weekends at The Table, but they recently started offering brunch on Saturdays – to accommodate people who need to get home in time for the rugby (joking! but only a little bit). if you have ever tasted Jessica’s scrambled eggs, you’ll know. photos by Jessica and myself.
this is what i ate – portobello mushrooms with lanquedoc cheese on sourdough.
the sweets table. at brunch!
they have also recently expanded The Table, meaning there’s lots more seating indoors and two cosy fireplaces to choose from. i love this new room with all the fairy lights, and that beautiful round marble top table. you might find me there on Saturdays.
