i think i got onto Jean Stories because i saw a pic of a nice bum in a nice pair of jeans somewhere. that’s how these things start, you know. good bums in good pairs of jeans are kind of everything. sort of like The Selby meets Freuden von Freunden meets Closet Story – but in denim. it was started by Jane Herman Bishop and Florence Kane, both fashion writers at Vogue.
Jean Stories is all about denim – who’s wearing it and making it, why we love it, and all the ways it reflects our lives and styles. Jane grew up in Los Angeles selling jeans at her family’s Ron Herman stores, where she got an informal denim education from some of the industry’s best. Florence’s fondest denim memories were, until now, from the 90s: stealing her dad’s Levi’s and Pendleton plaids to wear to high school in San Diego; decorating her room with Calvin Klein Jeans ads.
plus they have this amazing story about Rachel Comey and her new store in NYC which i am dying to visit. why must i be 12,500km away?
