wow, it’s not often that a hollywood red carpet event would introduce me to a favourite new designer – but that’s exactly what Michelle Dockery did by wearing NYC based Rosie Assoulin to the Emmys last night.

With a background in Oscar de la Renta’s altelier, the New York native has elegant formal-wear down but imbues her work with a markedly recognizable signature that belies her young age (some designers work decades to get there)—with plays on volume, interesting uses of color and a way with drama that’s somehow perfectly approachable. – Harpers Bazaar

ps i didn’t actually watch the Emmy’s, i don’t need to when Billy on the Street is around.

  1. My interest was also piqued when I saw the red carpet image of Michelle Dockery. It was a really great choice.

  2. What a great designer! I can see the Oscar de la Renta influence, but it looks much more modern.

  3. Wow, finaly something refreshing on the red carpet, I love it, so refreshing to see someone that actualy has the bulls nit to look like all the red carpet clones
