this is a home edition of These Things – a Home Things, if you will. at the moment my mind is quite preoccupied with making our place look nice. we live in a one bedroom flat in Sea Point, a suburb of Cape Town on the Atlantic seaboard – literally steps away from the promenade. this area has been having a revival of sorts lately, with new coffee places and restaurants popping up almost every day. and i can see us living here for a long time… as long as we never needed a bigger place (cough-kids-pets-cough).
i have some home improvements in mind that i am hoping to share soon (having our balcony room redone, for a start) but in the meantime i am always gathering inspiration from around the web. you know me… gathering, gathering.
first up, the new bedroom collection from Douglas and Bec. i love that round headboard… it’s scuh an old-school shape – but done in such a new, fresh way.
these blankets by BFGF are so great. i would want to just frame them and hang ’em on the wall:
very much into this shoot for Calypso St Barth shot by Dabito & styled by Justina Blakeney:
the FLIP shelf by Munk Collective. i like the pink one as a bedside table:
the Canyon series of ceramics by Red Raven Studios:
i love the Open Road Armchair – a collaboration between between furniture builder KKDW and leatherworker Canoe:
i love these two apartments styled by Minna Jones for a new development in Helsinki:
for residents of Cape Town (and beyond), Bofred is a cool new furniture shop:
the Levis x Pendleton blanket (i’ve always wanted a Pendleton blanket…)
speaking of blankets, i love these blanket throws by Dot and Bo:
love all these rugs from UO. top to bottom: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
a DIY geometric wooden floor by The Nugget:
removable wallpaper? yes please – i’ll take the Matisse one:
sweet goods by Pastrana Studio:
really love the furniture by the cleverly named Please wait to be seated:

…and “your” was meant to be you’re, obviously.
I stumbled onto UO’s rugs several weeks back. Dare I say I was “floored”? I was amazed at how many phenomenally beautiful design they had – and priced so very right. Excited to see how your home moves along.
So much inspiration in this post. I’m particularly taken with that Etsy shop full of awesome removable wallpapers!
