combining two of my favourite things: vintage photos and Instagram, The Family Acid shares 40 years of film photography shot by Roger Steffens, and curated by his daughter Kate. love his double exposures, and often hilarious snaps like this one, “The day mom and her friends did acid and went to Disneyland. They never made it in past the parking lot. Anaheim, CA, 1976.”
The Family Acid is Roger, Mary, Kate and Devon Steffens. They are based in Los Angeles, CA. Devon digitized Roger’s 40,000+ slides and negatives dating from 1960-1995. The majority of these photographs haven’t been seen by anyone outside of our family until now. Kate curates the Instagram page. Mary provides stories and inspiration. All photos by Roger Steffens unless otherwise specified.
there is a book in the works, but in the meantime follow along and have a browse here.

Oh man these are the best! Such a nice way to document family history.
How lovely, happy new year!
This is so cool, I want to buy the book now! Thanks for sharing.
Makes me want to scan those awesome pictures of my grand parents in the 60’s…back when they were doing picnics in coordinated outfits!
I just wish scanning films wasn’t soooo slow :/
Great find, as usual!
