six years ago today i wrote my first post! and it was dedicated to my mom, bless. i never imagined that the blog would grow to where it is today, and that it would become such a life-changing part of my existence. i was just a 25 year old girl who wasn’t quite sure what she wanted to do with her life / career / self / spare time. but i had an insatiable love for the internet and a desire to share cool things with people.

if anything i was lucky that blogging found me the way that it did, and that i got started at a time when it wasn’t all about money and sponsorship and being famous online. i’m also proud to have kept the blog the way i love it – without pandering to likes or compromising the content for any reason.

i want to say thank you so much to all of you for reading. whether you’ve been following right from the beginning, or if you’re just popping in every now and then, or maybe you only visited that one time and you’re never coming back! hope you enjoyed it nevertheless? i enjoyed writing every post and reading every comment.

i thought i would step into the Miss Moss Time Machine to show you the very many and very varied designs of the blog using the wonderful, amazing and stupendous Internet Archive. have you heard of it?

The Internet Archive non-profit that was founded to build an Internet library. Its purposes include offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format.

clearly this place is of great historical importance. happy birthday, blog.

  1. Congrats! :)

I’ve especially loved all of your fashion + art posts (and period drama fashion + anything will always make me happy).

  2. Yay! This was a lot of fun to look back through. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again- this is my favorite blog, and I’m so glad I found it!
I started reading in 2012, I think, and it really helped me to shape my identity through my teenage years, as a woman and as an artist. So thank you–cheers to six more years!

  3. I love your blog- I discovered it whilst living in Kenya a few years ago and was looking for African-based bloggers. Keep up the good work! xxx

You have such talented eyes ;) and you write with such a wonderful tone. AND you’ve given us the best playlists too.
Thanks you for being what feels like a virtual friend and for keeping us updated with all the beautiful things that are being made and done in the world. Your blog is one that people will go back to again and again, because that’s what I do and have been doing for years.

  7. Happy birthday, miss moss. I would just like to say that you have one of the biggest blogging personalities out there. It’s not tainted down with sponsorship, because every one of your sponsors is so YOU! And you always post JUST the right amount of text and pictures, and keep it snappy and delightful.

Here’s to the bestest blogger out there.

  19. Long time-reader, virgin commenter: Your blog is a bright light among blogs. I read very few, but have stayed tuned in here. Thanks for sharing your work!

  20. I’ve been checking your blog pretty much every day for the past couple of years, and I rejoice every time you post something new. I’m not sure why I haven’t commented until now. I wish there were more blogs like yours!

You have kept it fresh and made me look at least once a week for the past 6 years.
    Thank you!
    Amazing… and well done.
Look forward to another 6 :)

  22. I have to say–I’ve only been following your blog for about a year, but it’s the only one I never tire of or lose interest in (perhaps because you’ve never compromised on content). I could probably spend all day browsing through everything you’ve curated! Congrats on six years!

  23. Congratulations and thank you for scouting out such beautiful and interesting things for us every week!

I also wanted to take the opportunity to (very belatedly) thank you for THE BEST guide to Cape Town! I pretty much lived by it when I visited last year.

    Sarah :)

  24. This is so awesome, Diana! Congrats! So happy to say that I remember just about all of these ;)

  25. Happy Blog Birthday! Wow – all big 6. On my 6th birthday my parents gave me one of those cards with a badge on it. Us Vaalies were summering it up in Margate that year and there were some cute boys at the pool house. I turned my badge upside down just so that they could think I was ‘9’ not ‘6’. Too cool. (I have no idea why I just thought of and told you that).

Cheers to the 6 that have gone – looking forward to being part of the next 6. And Beyond.
