this post all started with a dress. well, actually... it all started when i was ploughing through hundreds of photos of the Resort 2016 collections. but that’s not such a great intro, is it? truth be told i’m kind of lost when it comes to “the shows”. i might see one frequently popping up on my feeds (this year it’s been Gucci and Dior – but purely because of the venue) and then i cautiously dip my toes into a veritable ocean of fashion, which can be an overwhelming ordeal for even the seasoned blogger. and my main aim is how to show you what i think is cool, without it being, well, boring. so how do i do that? the best way i know how: a colour comparison.
so, that dress above, that piece of Strelitzia magic by Fendi. it pleased me so much not only because it’s beautiful, but because they used a flower native to South Africa. i didn’t realise that the bird of paradise was found all over the world, that’s kind of awesome! so i thought that i ought to pick my favourite pieces from various collections and showcase them against a back-drop of equally beautiful flora.
the resort shows are still ongoing. i’m eager to see my ever favourite, Valentino. i was too impatient to wait for them all to finish before sharing these, but if there are some stand outs good then i’ll add some more to this post! you can see the rest of my resort favourites that did not make it here over on Pinterest.

These are seriously magazine worthy. Actually, more like museum worthy. Your color/ pattern comparisons make me so happy omg.
aaaaw THANKS!
This is insanely beautiful, amazingly creative and a feast of gorgeous color. I could look at this for hours. The botanical backgrounds showcase the clothes in a way that makes them even more interesting and compelling. What a talent!
